Verse 1:
I just cannot comprehend how foolish I am. To think that I have more answers than God does just sounds silly but by my lifestyle, that's what I try to portray. My choices reflect the weakness of my strength, and my repercussions reveal my dependence on Jesus Christ.
Verse 2:
While I am going through a trial, I can literally feel the battle occurring inside of me. I hear both sides trying to lead my soul in the right direction, but more often than not, the louder voice wins. Have you ever noticed that the weaker the argument is, the louder the voice has to be in order to compensate for the message's shallowness?
Verse 3:
There are few things more empowering than a second chance. Forgiveness is God's vehicle by which strength can return to our souls, in order that we might pass the test the next time around.
PreChorus:
God provides a way out for everybody in every situation it's up to us to find that way.
Chorus:
How powerful God is to help us overcome our trials! It's great to know that we have a living redeemer who continues to show His strength in our lives. If there's anybody that I would like on my team to help overcome the struggles of life, I would say that the Creator of the world is it.
Overall:
Obviously, I'm on a journey right now. I have been given many opportunities within the last few months to take care of this amazing pearl that I had been given, but I continue to throw it to the swine. Relationships are beautiful, but they create such an opportunity to please self over God. God's relationship to us, however, was quite the opposite. This relationship that I speak of was so full of love, so full of compassion, so full of dedication that He was willing to lay Himself at the altar for us. That's called sacrificing your own will to the Will of the Father. The opportunities to choose for God will keep coming, and God's strength will meet you there. It's all just a matter of receiving it.
Matthew 4:4
Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God'".
1 Corinthians 10:12-13
So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall! No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
John 15:5-7
"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.
1 John 4:4
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
