Verse 1:
Just as Jesus calls us to do, I do my best to spread the light that He blessed me with. Even if my with whom I share the light is not receiving it, I am doing everything within my power to show the joy that comes only from Jesus.
Verse 2:
My (someone close to me) has lost her relationship with Jesus, and doesn't know where to get it back, so I gave her a Bible to ignite her flame again.
Verse 3:
The entire basis for me giving the Bible to my (someone close to me) is the love of a son, and the love of a Father. Out of this love will flow much joy if this one lost lamb is found, and that is why I gave my (someone close to me) the Bible: so that there might be great rejoicing in all of the heavens, and God might smile upon her.
Refrain:
I gave my (someone close to me) the Bible because I care for her, and so does God. I want her to find peace and love in Jesus as much as God does, and my (someone close to me) will find this peace if she just opens her heart to let Him in.
Chorus:
The glory of God will indeed shine inside my (someone close to me) if only she'd let it. Jesus died on the cross just so that we can have this relationship and be saved from our sins.
Overall:
I bought a Bible for my (someone close to me) to show her the Truth and joy in being a Christian, and for the next month or so I highlighted about 270 awesome verses to lead her on her path. I gave the Bible to her on April 18, 2003 (2 days before Easter) and on the way home God shouted this song to me. Fifteen minutes after I hit the piano, this song jumped out. This song is suffixed "Part One" because I have yet to find whether or not the Bible gift will impact her relationship with God. Hopefully, God-willing, a "Part Two" will be joyfully sung, when there will rejoicing in all the heavens for the lost lamb who was found.
Matthew 28:19-20
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age."
Luke 15:6-7 (And the rest of Luke 15)
And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost.' Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
John 1:8
He was not the light, but came to bear witness to the light.
2 Corinthians 5:11-12
"Since, then, we know what it is to fear the Lord, we try to persuade men. What we are is plain to God, and I hope it is also plain to your conscience. We are not trying to commend ourselves to you again, but are giving you an opportunity to take pride in us, so that you can answer those who take pride in what is seen rather than in what is in the heart."
2 Corinthians 5:20a
"We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us."
1 John 5:11-12
"And what is it that God has said? That he has given us eternal life, and that this life is in his Son. So whoever has God's Son has life; whoever does not have his Son, does not have life."
