Lyrics
Verse 1:
Broken, I run on my own as I can't seem to find my way back home
And I need You.
Empty, my soul longs for love, but nothing on earth is nearly enough
And I need You.

Chorus:
Pour me out, Lord, all I need is You.
Save me now, Lord, all I need is You.

Verse 2:
Hungry, I can hardly stand - I fall in Your house with my head in my hand
And I need You
Thirsty, my heart growing dry as its tears overflow and the love starts to die
And I need You

(Chorus (2x))

Verse 3:
Abba, Father, bring me home, I've been empty forever but now I know
That I need You
Jesus, let me never forget that You've always been there, You're not through with me yet
So I need You

(Chorus (2x))

Description
Verse 1:
Without Christ, I had no direction. I had nothing to hold me together, and that left me both broken and empty without hope of ever recovering. My only hope (which, by the way, I didnt care much for at the time) was God.

Verse 2:
The memory of sitting in church and not being able to sing, pray, or even stand is painfully vivid. I believe that Satan was inside of me, and thats why it hurt so much to do anything that give God the glory. Without God, I was without nourishment and strength.

Verse 3:
Daddy, bring me home. Thats the cry of a lost child - that was the cry of my lost heart. God was with me throughout those few painful days, allowing me to go through it all. In the end, I have grown closer to Christ. Imagine being a little boy who has been kidnapped for four days and finally being freed. The next time that child sees his parents, he's going to cling to them with his life. That's where God has brought me to.

Chorus:
Lord, empty my heart from all that has kept you from making Your home there, and save me from the empty promises of this world. All that I really need it You.

Overall:
Last Sunday morning, I woke up and instantly felt nothing for God anymore. Nothing. In fact, I was aggressively denying Him and was quite upset for all the time that I've wasted following this God that I've created just so that I could have something to believe in. Crazy, huh? It felt as though God had just abandoned me in an instant, and I was absolutely lost without Him. Needless to say, the next couple of days were incredibly confusing. Long story short (minus some pretty frightening experiences without Christ at home in my heart), Wednesday night, God freed me with this song. From Sunday through Wednesday, Satan was battling God for a place in my heart, and God finally won. After experiencing even three days in that much darkness, I dont ever want to leave the light again.

John 6:35
"The Jesus declared, 'I am the break of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.'"

1 John 4:4
"You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world."
