Lyrics
Verse 1:
How sweet it is to close my eyes and see my Savior's face
How wonderful for souls to rise and know You're in this place
How beautiful to lift my hands and lay my heart at Your throne
How precious to give all I am for God to love me as His own

Chorus:
Holy, Holy is my God! How great it is to see Your face
Holy, Holy is my God! You are worthy of my praise!

Verse 2:
How sweet it is within My skies to see My child's face
How wonderful for souls to rise and know you're in this place
How beautiful to hold your hands and carry you to My throne
How precious to give you My Son so I could love you as My own

(Chorus (2x))

Bridge:
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

(Chorus (2x))

Ending
How sweet it is to close my eyes and see my Savior's face.

Description
Verse 1:
The first verse is the created singing praise to the Creator. In prayer, we have the unbelievable privilege of being face-to-face with God. Just calling on His name brings Him into our midst - kinda like the Bat-Signal bringing Batman but our Lord is a bit more powerful than that. Anyway, back to the serious - lifting hands in worship is a sign that we are giving all that we are to God. Think about when people surrender to police officers and soldiers - they lift up their hands to show that they are putting themselves in a position where they can no longer do anything but are in the complete control of the other person. That's what we do with God - we lift our hands to show Him that we surrender all that we are to Him.

Verse 2:
The second verse is God singing to His children. Something came on me today before I wrote this song, and it's a concept that I have read in Next Door Savior by Max Lucado, The Sacred Romance by Brent Curtis and John Eldredge, and The Divine Conspiracy by Dallas Willard. God is in love with us! That's why He created us in the first place - to have somebody to share His infinite love with. The warmth that I feel in His presence is His love pouring down on me like the sunshine in a beach's shore. We wouldn't know what love was if it weren't for Him.

Bridge:
Hallelujah is a praise sung to the Lord throughout the entire Bible. It's derived from the Hebrew words "Hallelu Yah" which mean "praise ye the Lord". Now praise is a combination of joy and gratitude, so here we are just thanking God for His undying love for us.

Chorus:
Our God is good and holy and we can see his face now and for all eternity. It brings God glory to call Him holy, and in that statement we show our love for Him as He shows His love for us.

Overall:
God's children love God. God loves all of His children. The story of God's sacred romance with us is that He created us to love Him, we turned down His love and chose to love ourselves instead, He sacrificed His Son so that we could love Him despite this human condition, and yet still many choose not to accept it. Those who are with God know, however, how beautiful it is to just be in His presence. Sometimes in prayer or when singing I feel as though I am sitting on a beach shore with my eyes closed and without a care in the world. I am at total peace, and the warmth of the sun comfortably warms my face. That's what it's like to be in the presence of the Lord. That's love.

Luke 3:21-22
"And as he was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: 'You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.'"

1 John 3:16
"This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers."

Psalm 106:1
"Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; His love endures forever."
